An opportunity
to escape
Grant Park has been a destination for Atlantans seeking to enjoy the great outdoors for generations. Just through the oaks and pines from the city’s storied railways and burgeoning skyline, the lush area provided a recreational escape for those looking to get away from town life and admire the natural wonders of the world. What one day became a charming central neighborhood at Atlanta’s front doorstep was once deep in the city’s backwoods.
As time marched on and pockets of Grant Park’s native Georgian woodlands vanished in favor of Victorian bungalows, the area’s focus shifted to bolstering its industrial future. A city that some called too busy let its tremendous growth get in the way of appreciating its raw, unpolished roots.
The Southside’s natural touch points were coveted pieces of our community; an open secret to all those who preferred to get dirty and make their own fun. As secret turned to faded memory in history books, Grant Park’s tree lined streets matured and returned the historic neighborhood to its wooded heritage. Now, The Beacon harkens back to the yesteryear of its home and once again provides Atlantans a retreat from the bustling life in the city. The Beacon is simple.
